About EN300328

1.Introduction to EN300328 standard

EN300328 is aimed at devices operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM band and using broadband digital transmission, including common wireless LAN, Bluetooth, and ZigBee products. There are a large number of radio equipment working in this frequency band. EN300328 gives specifications for such products to ensure that radio equipment does not cause interference with each other or human health, and puts forward more specific requirements for the minimum performance of the wireless receiving part to improve Wireless spectrum utilization.

2.EN300328 standard update background

ETSI EN300328 v2.1.1, released on November 14, 2016, is the first version of EN300328 released since the RED instruction was updated. The main change of v2.1.1 compared to v1.9.1 under the R & TTE directive is to change Receiver Blocking from Adaptivity A scrambling step in the testing process is independent and used as a separate test item. Before and after the blocking signal is added, the change of the packet loss rate (PER) of the EUT in the receiving mode is used to evaluate the performance of the receiver. Higher requirements.

And in July of this year (July 24, 2019), the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) officially released the official version of EN300328 v2.2.2.

At present, the reference published in the Official Journal of the European Union on the EN 300328 standard is still V2.1.1, so when companies apply for CE certification, they still need to test and issue certificates according to the old V2.1.1 standard. After the V2.2.2 version is officially published in the official journal of the European Union, the testing agency can test and issue certification according to the V2.2.2 version standard. However, if an enterprise currently applies for CE NB certification, it can test and issue certificates in accordance with V2.2.2.

3. Effective date and enforcement date

Enforcement date: October 31, 2021

4.EN 300328V2.2.2 standard changes

Transmitter spurious

The transmitter spurs (Transmitter Unwanted Emissions in the Spurious Domain) in the 694MHz-862MHz frequency band were raised from the original -54dBm / 100kHz to -36dBm / 100kHz, the limit increased by 18dB, and the requirements are more relaxed.

Receiver blocked

Regarding Receiver Blocking, the new version of the standard modifies the definition of receiver types, test methods, and limit requirements.

a. Receiver type:

b. Limits:

After comparison, under the premise that the EUT meets the minimum performance standards, the new version of the standard increases the size of the blocking signal, and at the same time the amplitude of the intentional signal also increases. It is also necessary to verify the impact of the actual test results.
