New ErP EU 2019/2020 and Energy Efficiency Label EU 2019/2015 directives promulgated
The ErP Directive EC 244/2009, EC 245/2009, EU 1194/2012 and the Energy Efficiency Labelling Directive EU 874/2012 have been implemented for many years. The European Commission has adopted continuous improvements in the lighting technology, environmental and economic factors and actual users in the past 3 years Conduct review of these directives, and issued a new version of the ErP Directive EU 2019/2020 and the Energy Efficiency Labelling Directive EU 2019/2015 on December 5, 2019.
The new version of the ErP Directive EU 2019/2020 specifies the ecological design requirements for the following products:
(a) a light source;
(b) a separate light source control device;
These requirements also apply to light sources and separate light source controls in combination products (eg, lighting fixtures) sold on the market.
The new version of the Energy Efficiency Labelling Directive EU 2019/2015 specifies energy efficiency labeling requirements for light sources and light sources used in combination products.
The new version of the ErP Directive EU 2019/2020 and the Energy Efficiency Labelling Directive EU 2019/2015 will be implemented from December 25, 2019 and enforced from September 1, 2021. At that time, the older ErP Directives EC 244/2009, EC 245/2009, EU 1194/2012 and the Energy Efficiency Labelling Directive EU 874/2012 will be replaced.
The main differences between the new version of the ErP EU 2019/2020 and the previous version:
◆ The scope of application has increased the products of household appliances and furniture with lights;
◆ The calculation of energy efficiency is changed from EEI index to Ponmax, increasing the color rendering index factor and improving the requirements of energy efficiency;
◆ Add strobe test: SVM, Pst LM;
◆ Increase the power consumption requirement of network control network standby;
◆ Increased the requirements for drive energy conversion efficiency;
◆ Switch cycle test, startup time, warm-up time test is deleted;
◆ Number of test samples: only 10 light sources and only 3 drivers required;
◆ Endurance test of 3600 hours, of which the lighting time is 3000 hours, the test time is greatly reduced, but the requirements for the lumen maintenance rate are greatly increased.
The main differences between the new version of the EU 2019/2015 directive and the previous directive:
◆ The calculation of energy efficiency level is changed from EEI index to ηTM (lm / W), which is more intuitive;
◆ The classification of energy efficiency grades is changed from Class A to Class G;
◆ Higher energy efficiency requirements. For example, Class A ++ was equivalent to Class E now.
