Amazon notification: UN38.3 report must be provided for lithium battery product shipments from January 1, 2020
Recently, Amazon e-commerce companies have received official notifications, requiring that battery manufacturers and distributors must provide a lithium battery test summary in accordance with UN standard UN38.3 from January 1, 2020. This new global requirement applies to all Lithium batteries and products containing lithium batteries.
When sellers use FBA to ship products, they must provide a test summary certificate for each ASIN that contains the above products. Otherwise, Amazon will suspend the account to sell products. All costs incurred will also be borne by the seller. Although this rule is a notice issued by Amazon to FBA sellers, according to this rule, all sellers who sell lithium batteries and products containing lithium batteries must provide a corresponding test summary in accordance with the UN38.3 standard, not just using Amazon. FBA sellers are not just Amazon sellers, but all sellers who sell lithium batteries and lithium battery products worldwide!
Tips from the China Federation of Inspection and Certification: If Amazon e-commerce has paid attention to selling corresponding lithium battery products, it must be carefully checked before shipping to FBA, otherwise it will be found that there is no UN38.3 test report after it is sent to FBA, not only will it be The sale is banned, and the storage fee must continue to be paid.
There is still more than a month to go before January 1, 2020. Battery manufacturers who have not yet done this test must also take the time to prepare. For companies that need to do UN38.3 certification, please contact the China Federation of Inspections in time. !!
